About the Royal Yeomanry Regimental Association (RYRA).

Membership is open to all those who are serving or who have served in the Royal Yeomanry or have served in the antecedent regiments.

The Association was formed in 1988 by members and former members of The Royal Yeomanry who were concerned to:

“promote the efficiency and welfare of the Royal Yeomanry and its past, present and future members and to perpetuate its deeds.”

The Association was established as a charitable trust and its administration was reorganised in 2012. The Association is registered with the Charity Commission with number 800055.

The Association’s charitable objects are:

  • to promote the efficiency of the Regiment by:
    • maintaining contact between past and present members of the Regiment, fostering mutual friendship between them and providing for social gatherings for them.; and
    • fostering esprit de corps, comradeship and the welfare of the Regiment and preserving its traditions.
  • to relieve either generally or individually members of the the Association or members of the Regiment and their dependants who are in conditions of need hardship or distress.

If you are not yet a member or have lost contact, we would very much like to hear from you. You can join now by emailing membership@ryra.org.uk.

As the Association relies on donations there is no set ‘rate’ for membership and we would ask you to be as generous as your means allow. Please fill in a standing order instruction to send to your bank which can be downloaded here: Standing Order Instruction

All members and friends of the Association are strongly encouraged to complete a Gift Aid Form in respect of any subscription or donation that they make. Once complete the form should be sent to the Secretary who will then claim back the standard rate of income tax increasing the value your donation by 20%.
